Fred Morgan Diabetes:
Prevention is better than a Cure

Fred Morgan

Diabetes Diabetes is a disease that affects the way the body uses food for energy and growth. When you eat, food is broken down and converted into glucose or simple sugars; it then passes into the bloodstream to be used for energy. In order for glucose to reach your cells, insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, must be present.

Diabetes can occur when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin. This causes a build up of sugar in the blood. Excess sugar passes out of the body in the urine, and fails to fulfill its normal role as the body’s main source of fuel.

The most common form of diabetes is Type 2. Statistics show 20.8 million people in the United States have diabetes, but of those, only 14.6 million have actually been diagnosed with the disease.

Are you aware that diabetes is a major cause of kidney failure and limb amputation? The fact that so many people are unaware of this destructive disease prompted me to educate them, so they can take preventive measures to rid themselves of diabetes altogether.

One of my clients was diagnosed with diabetes eight years ago. Although he was injecting himself with insulin shots daily, he began exercising, following a good nutritional program, and trusting God for healing. His diligence has paid off. Over the last six months, he has gone from a dependence on insulin, to not having to administer the medication at all!

I’ve had my own personal battle with this disease, and it hit close to home. My grandmother died as a result of diabetes complications.

I firmly believe prevention is better than cure. You can protect yourself from contracting diabetes and minimize your risk factors by taking the following steps:
  1. Make a quality decision to live a healthy lifestyle.
  2. Minimize or eliminate processed foods and refined sugar from your diet.
  3. Increase your intake of fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains.
  4. Supplement your diet with a quality vitamin and mineral supplement which contains chromium and vanadium; these help regulate insulin production and glucose. Supplements from plant sources such as the Moringa Oleifera plant also contain a wide spectrum of essential nutrients that help prevent disease.
  5. Undergo an annual physical.
  6. Honestly evaluate your current health and fitness level, and commit to change if necessary.
  7. Meditate on God’s Word daily, confessing that you abide in divine and perfect health.
  8. Designate time to research any adverse diagnosis from your doctor, and take immediate action to improve your health.
  9. Locate a nutritional counselor to help you devise a healthy eating program.
  10. For purposes of exercise and physical fitness, consider joining a gym and/or employing the services of a personal trainer.

As Christians, it’s important to recognize that God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, including good health. The knowledge that He desires we live a long, active and energetic life is the ammunition we need to protect our health; it should propel us to create an environment in our bodies which makes it impossible for disease to thrive.
